Unit 4 - Style the Web

In the past, the only way to build a website was with HTML coding. Users would simply need a text editor to write HTML and CSS files. Applying style to newly created website will require users to input separate codes for pictures, background color, text color, links, images and so forth. This form of website creation is very time consuming and also free. Websites like W3 school has a database of HTML codes and tutorials on how to properly apply the codes. There are several website creation tools available on the market that allows users to bypass the HTML coding process. These creation tools often have several premade templates that can be customized. Uploading personal images or content is made easy with a click and drag feature. Unlike HTML coding, website creation tools require users to purchase a subscription with them to publish their website to the internet.
I have experience using HTML coding and using Wix to create a website.  Link to my website.

List of a few creation tools

1.       Wix

2.       Squarespace

3.       Godaddy

4.       Weebly

5.       Wordpress

Each website creation tool specializes in certain aspects of design or customization.
Before creating a website the designer must understand their brand and what it stands for. The style guide they produce will visually and emotionally represent the brand.
It is important to know your target audience when designing a website.  The presentation must remain consistent with things like fonts, borders, and colors. When you consider that 65% of people are visual learners, 90% of information that comes to the brain is visual, and presentations with visual aides are 43% more persuasive, it makes sense to use content types which people have an innate psychological resonance with.

Comments

  1. With your lost of web tools, you should have hyperlinked each one of them.
Before we go any further, please work on the design of your blog. Your fonts are not good and not consistent. For example, why am I suddenly typing in bold. Eben in your own post above there is no consistency. You have also not added the widgets that I suggested.
